Actress Yassi Pressman thanked NBA superstar Damian Lillard for extending help to the Philippine General Hospital, which was hit by fire last May 16.
The Portland Trail Blazers point guard was among those who lend donations for the fire-stricken hospital.
“Also, huuuuge thanks to big brother @DamianLillard for sending over such a generous amount, kahit na wala siya sa Pilipinas, just to be able help,” said the actress who rose to fame after being part of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
However, she did not mention how much Lillard, who has twice visited the Philippines – first as part of the “The Last Home Stand” charity basketball event in 2014 and second on a promo tour of his sneaker sponsor in 2016, donated.
Yassi Pressman also visited PGH to personally check its condition.
“It was really heartbreaking seeing all of the infants, sobrang saludo po ako sa lahat ng mga tumulong,” she said.
“Saludo po ako sa mga taong di nagdalawang isip at di sumuko na itakbo ang mga sanggol palabas ng ospital,” she added.
It was on May 16 when the fire broke out on the 3rd floor of the pay ward of the Philippine General Hospital.
According to PGH spokesman Dr. Jonas del Rosario, there were no casualties in the incident.
On the other hand, the Bureau of Fire Protection said that about 80 to 90 percent of patients were evacuated, including COVID-19 patients. Firefighters declared a fireout at 5:45 a.m. Sunday.
