Vice mayor accused in the killing of Charlie Yuson III in 2019 has been apprehended

Nelson Refermoso Cambaya, the incumbent vice mayor of Batuan, Masbate, who’s among those behind the killing of former vice mayor Charlie Yuson III in 2019, has been arrested.

The suspect was apprehended in the island barangay of Quinapagian, Mercedes town, Camarines Norte, Thursday, June 10.

Authorities were able to track him down with the cooperation of the Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN).

On October 9, 2019, Yuson was shot to death by armed men.

Two people who were having breakfast with him in front of a house on Vicente Cruz Street, Sampaloc, Manila were wounded in the shooting.

Aside from Cambaya, who is already detained at the Mercedes municipal police station, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board member Sandra Cam, son Marco Martin Cam, Junel Gomez, Bradford Solis, Juanito de Luna, and Rigor dela Cruz are also accused of killing Charlie Yuson III.
