Renzo Matienzo, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) federation president of Lumban in Laguna died in a shooting incident on Thursday, April 15.
According to a report of Police Regional Office 4A, the 26-year-old resident of Barangay Maytalang was in his bedroom when an assailant fired shots against him several times.
The suspect immediately fled from the crime scene after the attack.
Authorities are now conducting a hot-pursuit operation to identify and arrest the assailant.
Meanwhile, the Sangguniang Kabataan ng Lumban took to social media wherein it paid a tribute to the late SK president.
“Lubos lubos ang aming pag dadalamhati dahil sa pag panaw ng aming mabuting Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President. Maganda at masayang alala ang iniwan mo samin na hindeng hinde namin malilimutan. Naging mabuti kang kaibigan at magaling na leader samin. You may now rest in peace Renzo L. Matienzo Lubos din po ang aming pakikiramay sa pamilyang naiwan ni Renzo. Fly high Eseng! Hanggang sa muli. Paaalam!”
Friends of the late SK president also expressed their condolences to the grieving family of Matienzo.
