Bloomberg reported that Microsoft planned to build four new data centers in China and the company will complete those projects in the next few months in order to enhance its cloud service capabilities.

As per the report, Microsoft’s “ultimate plan” was to expand its cloud service business throughout Asia.

The expansion of Microsoft cloud services in China was very fast. Last March, the tech giant announced its plan to add data centers.

Microsoft currently had six data centers in China. According to a document cited by Microsoft, the cloud computing market in China was expected to grow to USD 46 billion in 2023.

In addition, Bloomberg reported that Microsoft was cooperating with a local Chinese firm in order to expand its cloud computing capabilities in China.

At the same time, Alibaba and Huawei were the biggest competitors of Microsoft’s cloud service business as those two Chinese firms were currently the two largest companies in the cloud service field in China.
