Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) police director Brig. Gen Eliseo Cruz has mandated Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division to investigate the incident.

In a statement, the PNP said: “All policemen involved in the operations were subjected to paraffin testing and ballistics examinations were conducted on their firearms. The bodies of Maglinte and Dalit were autopsied and also subjected to paraffin testing.”

The police officers have been placed under the restrictive custody of the Police Regional Office 4A.

Earlier, the police operatives claimed that 16-year-old Johndy Maglinte and Antonio Castillo Dalit, who’s among Laguna’s 10 most wanted and the target of the said operation, fought back against the officers during their arrest.

But relatives of the two said that Dait was first gunned down and since the minor witnessed the killing, he was later shot by the police.
