IATF Set To Discuss Guidelines For Issuance Of Vaccine Passports For Filipinos — DICT

The IATF was set to discuss the guidelines for the issuance of vaccine passports for Filipinos, according to DICT.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) said that the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) was set to discuss the guidelines for the issuance of vaccine passports for Filipinos.

The IATF was set to discuss the guidelines for the issuance of vaccine passports for Filipinos, according to DICT.

During an online town hall event on Wednesday, a DICT official said that the government was set to discuss the guidelines for the planned issuance of vaccine passports for Filipinos that were already inoculated against COVID-19.

According to DICT Undersecretary Emmanuel Rey Caintic, the crafting of the policies and guidelines on the issuance of vaccine passports will be “extensively” discussed this week by the IATF members.

Caintic also said that it’s important for local government units (LGUs) to complete the necessary data on their vaccinated constituents.

Alam kong nahihirapan kayong kumpletuhin ang mga datos. Hindi ko palang pwede i-discuss ngayon, pero kailangan po talaga iyan kasi we are going to create vaccine passports for international, sea, and air travel, and possibly contemplating on domestic travel,” Caintic said.

Last January, the Department of Health (DOH) announced the planned issuance of vaccine passport for Filipinos, saying that such system will also be imposed in other countries.

According to DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the vaccine passport will serve as their certificate that they have been vaccinated.

I guess this will be part of the protocol to control the borders of each of these countries that we have around the world,” Vergeire said.
