A five-inch knife that had been stuck in the back of a man for more than a year after he was stabbed in Kidapawan City has been pulled out.
It was January of 2020 when Kent Ryan Tomao was stabbed while riding a motorcycle with his friend.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but the doctor did not x-ray his wound and sewed it up immediately because it was said to be not that severe.
But after he underwent an x-ray procedure to apply for a job last month, it was found out that a knife lodge in his body.
According to Kent, he usually felt the pain in his chest but decided to neglect it thinking that it was just something else.
The doctor told him that the object must be removed as soon as possible to save him from any unfortunate incident.
“Sabi ng doktor, dapat makuha na agad kasi malapit ‘yong kutsilyo sa lungs, delikado po.” Tomao said.
Meanwhile, Tomao underwent surgery on Tuesday at the Cotabato Provincial Hospital.
The operation took three hours because the knife was close to the victim’s lungs. Tomao is currently recovering at their home.
