On Friday, April 16, Erap was readmitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) due to a superimposed bacterial lung infection.

Erap’s blood pressure also needs to be monitored because it has risen due to the said infection.

But in the latest update of the younger Estrada, he said that his father’s condition “continues to improve steadily.”

Here’s the whole post of Jinggoy:

My father has been wheeled back to a regular room yesterday and continues to improve steadily.
He has no fever and his oxygen need is lower.
His doctors are also starting him on pulmonary rehabilitation to hasten the recovery of his lung function.
Studies have shown that this is one of the longer-lasting problems that Covid patients experience.
We hope that the rest of his recovery is uneventful and we ask that you join us in praying for him.
Again, our sincerest gratitude to all those who have prayed, showed their love and concern for our
father.

The former President was rushed to hospital on March 28 after he tested positive for COVID-19.

On April 6, he was induced with a mechanical ventilator to breathe properly and on April 13, the former public servant tested negative for COVID-19.
