Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro “Teddy” Locsin Jr. defended Angel Locsin amid criticisms over chaos at her birthday community pantry.
On the 36th birthday of Angel, she launched a community pantry that benefited the needy residents of Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City.
Unfortunately, chaos raged after a large crowd influx the pantry with some violating the health and safety protocols such as not observing social distancing and not wearing face masks or face shields.
Aside from that, a senior citizen waiting in line fainted and passed away.
Angel Locsin earned negative remarks from netizens following the incident.
While some are criticizing her, others came out to defend the actress and one of which is DFA Secretary Teddy Locsin Jr.
On Twitter, he wrote: “No forgiveness needed; at least she tried to feed them; one was so starved and weak she couldn’t feed him in time. Blame those who don’t do what she and others like her—like my friends from the very start of the pandemic—are trying to do: feed the hungry and not their egos.”
“You meant well. Road to hell is not paved w/ good intentions; that’s the excuse of animals whose intentions are always bad but know the road to hell well because they came from there. But keep away from Filipino political advisers; they are born stupid. Same advice for my side,” he added.
