Two Candidates Of Miss Grand International Test Positive For COVID-19

Two candidates of Miss Grand International had tested positive for COVID-19.

Miss Grand International officially released a statement announcing that two candidates had tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a statement, two candidates — Chikaodili Nna-Udosen of Nigeria and Irene Ng’endo of Kenya — for the upcoming pageant competition had tested positive for COVID-19.

Candidates from different countries for the upcoming coronation night of the 2020 Miss Grand International were almost complete in Bangkok, Thailand.

Upon their arrival in Thailand, the candidates immediately went to a hotel in order to undergo quarantine which was one of the health and safety protocols of the host country as a precaution against COVID-19 as well.

However, in the recent Facebook post of Miss Grand International last March 4, two candidates from Nigeria and Kenya had tested positive for COVID-19.

According to an official announcement, Irene and Chikaodili had tested positive for COVID-19 after a regular routine swab test in Thailand.

The organization then transferred the candidates to Piyavej Hospital for further treatment. On the other hand, other candidates had tested negative and cleared from COVID-19.

The Miss Grand International has follow the standard regulated guideline recommended by government together with doctor advice by moving both candidates to Piyavate Hospital for further treatment. The hotel applied their standard ASQ policy by sanitized all related area including their accomodation room,” the post stated.

Representing the Philippines in the said pageant was Samantha Bernardo, who was the first to arrive in Bangkok, Thailand last February 24 and was currently completing the required 14-day quarantine.

Also, Bernardo would have an opportunity to meet the founder and president of the Miss Grand International Organization after getting the 2nd highest score in a social media contest.

Joining her for a “special meal” with Miss Grand International founder and president Nawat Itsaragrisil were the bets from Myanmar, Indonesia, Mexico, and Ecuador.
