A fire incident in Quezon City killed an elderly couple

An elderly couple, both 80 years old, died when their house was caught fire in Barangay Roxas District, Quezon City.

The victims were identified as Mariano Mejia Jr. and his wife Benita Mejia.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire broke out at 1:21 a.m., March 25, in the Mejia’s 2-story home.

The fire started on the ground floor where the remains of the senior citizens were found.

The fire which reached its first alarm was extinguished around two in the morning.

It was reported that Benita had left the house but she returned to her bedridden husband.

Meanwhile, an estimated three million pesos worth of property was destroyed in the fire in Quezon.
