It has been twenty-two (22) days since “true-blooded” fans of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza plead to boycott all programs produced by M-ZET Productions and APT Entertainment.

In particular, the weekly sitcom Daddy’s Gurl and the daily noontime show Eat Bulaga!, which are all blocktimer shows on GMA Network.

An AlDub fan explained: “We have this OHT trending 4 16 days & b4 that 6 days w/ another boycott HT.”

This reached Chris Martinez, director of Daddy’s Gurl, who received tweets from true-blooded ADN fans who were angry at the pairing of Maine and Arjo.

According to Cris, he is not unaware that he is being criticized as well as other members of Daddy’s Gurl.

“Hindi po ako takot. Busy lang. Sayang oras. At quota na ang mata ko sa mga kabastusang salita. Huwag mong isipin na kaya ka blinock kasi nakakatakot ka. Kaya ka nablock kasi bastos at istorbo ka. K bye.”

The director also appealed among true-blooded AlDub fans to stop throwing bad words after Arjo’s appearance in Daddy’s Gurl.

AlDub fans were enraged by the teaming up of Maine and her boyfriend Arjo Atayde on the March 6 episode of Daddy’s Gurl.

It was part of a birthday special for Maine, who celebrated her 26th birthday on March 3rd.

But fans didn’t like the fact that Daddy’s Gurl creators openly supported Maine and Arjo’s relationship.

Many of them said they prefer Alden to be Maine’s onscreen partner.

AlDub, or Alden and Yaya Dub, rose to fame in the “Kalyeserye” segment of Eat Bulaga! from July 16, 2015 to December 17, 2016.

This was followed by their tandem in the Kapuso primetime series Destined To Be Yours (2017) and the films My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore (2015) and Imagine You and Me (2016).
