Zamboanga City 2nd District Rep. Jose Manuel Dalipe and four (4) members of his family tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
On Wednesday, the Zamboanga City congressman took to the social networking site, Facebook to confirm that he and 4 members of his family including his father, former Mayor Manny Dalipe, his wife Keenah, and their two daughters contracted the dreaded disease.
“Five members of the Dalipe family are now bravely fighting the COVID virus. Please continue to pray for us as we also pray for everyone’s health and safety,” the Zamboanga City Congressman said.
According to him, his father is now in the intensive care unit of the hospital. He added that he has a cough and his throat hurts as well.
COVID-19 is characterized by flu-like symptoms such as fever, difficulty in breathing, cough, and other respiratory problems but a patient may also be positive for the disease even without showing any signs.
With the rapid increase of coronavirus disease 2019 cases, leaders of different nations are doing their all in order to combat the spread of the deadly virus which started in Wuhan, China in 2019.
Among the safety protocols that everyone must observe are the following; social/physical distancing, wearing masks especially in public places, and using disinfectant from time to time if possible.
