Filipino Actor Tony Ferrer Passes Away at the Age of 86
TONY FERRER – The Filipino actor who has been dubbed as the ‘James Bond of the Philippines” has already passed away at the age of 86.
Antonio Laxa or popularly known as Tony Ferrer is a Filipino actor, film director and producer. Ge rose to fame after playing the role of a spy named Tony Falcon in the Agent X-44 movie series.
The actor has been tagged as the “James Bond of the Philippines” for his iconic role in several action films. He has been already featured in numerous Philippines films and he won Best Actor awards at the Quezon City Film Festival for Sapagkat Sila’y Aming Mga Anak (1970).
On Saturday (January 23, 2021), the veteran actor Tony Ferrer has passed away due to a heart disease and complications from diabetes. He died at the age of 86 years old and made a mark in the history of Philippine films.
The celebrity died at his house in Pasay City. The male celebrity left his children Maricel Laxa, Mark Laxa, and Mutya Crisostomo.
“On 23 January 2021, our beloved father, friend, and Philippine movie industry treasure ANTONIO D. LAXA popularly known as TONY FERRER joined our Creator quietly in his sleep and in the comfort of his home. He was 86 years old,” Mutya wrote on her Instagram post.
Ferrer’s family confirmed and announced the bad news to the public. The actor’s nephew named Jim Laxa Lalic made the announcement.
