Sinas: “Actually wala namang VIP treatment”
PNP chief Police General Debold Sinas has issued a statement regarding VIP treatment allegations in the case of Christine Dacera.
In a press conference on Monday, January 11, he was asked with regards to the viewing of the remains of Christine Dacera at the Camp Crame as well as the security provided during her burial in General Santos City.
But according to Sinas, the Philippine National Police just entended help as the colleagues of Christine Dacera in the Philipine Airlines wanted to pay their last respect for her and that the victim’s family was not able to find a place for the last viewing.
“Actually wala namang VIP treatment, ‘yung dito nag-offer kami ng space kasi nga ‘yung PAL employees, gusto nilang dumalaw before dalhin ‘yung cadaver ni Ms. Christine sa Gen San ay wala po silang makuhang lugar,” Sinas said.
“At least it helps them at tumutulong naman kami,” Sinas added.
The PNP only gave two hours for the final viewing of Christine Dacera according to Sinas.
With regards to the burial of Christine, Sinas cited Sharon, mother of the late flight attendant, over her connections with the military and the police as a reservist.
Sinas also noted that he did not order the tight security during Christine Dacera’s burial.
“As to the security doon, ‘yung mother po kasi ni Christine is a reservist AFP personnel… she is friendly to both the AFP and the PNP. Marami po siyang kaibigan sa lugar nila. It is just fitting siguro na siyempre kaibigan mo, pupunta ka doon. Hindi naman namin sila pinagbawal at di rin namin sinabi na magpunta sila doon,” he said.
