Nuezca May Plead Insanity As Defense, Lawmakers Tell Prosecutors

Lawmaker Warns Prosecutors Of Possible Nuezca May Plead Insanity

NUEZCA MAY PLEAD INSANITY – A lawmaker warned government prosecutors that Killer Cop Jonel Nuezca may plea for insanity as a defense.

Recently, Nuezca made headlines after he pleaded “not guilty” to the crime of killing Sonya and Frank Gregorio. Despite the overwhelming evidence against him, Nuezca and his camp believe he had no fault in their deaths.

As such, a trial for his case would be pushed forward to February 4, 2020. However, this leads Iligan City Rep. Frederick Siao to believe Nuezca’s camp may use “insanity” as a defense for his actions.

According to an article from Inquire, Siao said:

Nuezca’s lawyers will try to put forward the insanity defense. They will try to convince the public that Nuezca ‘lost his mind,’ had a ‘psychotic episode,’ or ‘nagdilim ang paningin’ moments before he shot in the head and instantly killed Sonya Gregorio and Frank Gregorio

With this, Siao told prosecutors to assail any possible insanity defense Nuezca and his camp may bring to court. “The viral video of the murder is clear and plain to see. All the necessary elements of the crime of murder are there“, he added.

Furthermore, Siao noted how Nuezca’s lawyers may emphasize how the viral video of the cop killing the Gregorio mother and son in broad daylight did not have a frontal view of the incident. However, the lawmakers said this type of defense would still fail.

He explained that Nuezca’s face was shown several times in the video and had audio of Nuezca conversing with the people around him.
