It was five years ago when Kim performed at the press launch of TV5’s singing talent-reality show “Born To Be A Star” wherein she sang “Pangarap Na Bituin” — one of the “national anthems” of those who dreamt of entering the local entertainment industry in the country.

Five years later, Kim — along with Matteo Guidicelli — will be introduced as one of the hosts of the said show which will still be aired on TV5 starting January 30, 2021.

When she found out she would be part of Born To Be A Star, Kim said that she’s surprised when she was told that she’s set to host the said show with Matteo.

According to her, she thought that she’ll be a judge again since “Born To Be A Star” was a singing competition.

Nag-sink in na lang sa akin ang lahat when Boss Veronique del Rosario-Corpus confirmed it to me over the phone, followed by Matteo texting me how excited he was,” Kim said.

Kim was also a product of singing competitions so she knew the feelings of those who dream of entering showbiz very well.

However, she didn’t expect to be an actress because singing was her first love.

According to her, she wanted to be a singer and that’s her only priority at first, and then she’s given the chance to hone her craft as an artist as a whole.

Kim also said that she’s blessed to be surrounded by people who never stop pushing her to go on — her family, her boyfriend Jerald Napoles, and even her management — as they’re always there to remind her that they’re there to support her no matter what.

I think yun ang ang naging isang pinakamalaking factor kaya nandito pa rin ako at hindi tumitigil sa kung ano man ang gusto ko po na marating,” Kim said.
