Here’s what Coney Reyes said about the recent achievement of Vico Sotto
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto was recognized as People Asia’s People’s Choice Awardee and this received a reaction from his mother Coney Reyes.
Mayor Vico was able to establish his name in the field of public service even though his parents are among the prominent personalities in the entertainment industry.
Being a son of Coney with Vic Sotto, he was expected to follow the footsteps of his parents in showbiz. However, he is more inclined in public service and his parents are very supportive.
Just recently, People Asia recognized the Pasig City Mayor as its People’s Choice Awardee. On the official Instagram account of the popular magazine, this was written about Vico Sotto:
“Shortly after he put an end to a 27-year-old political dynasty, the mayor of Pasig made national headlines for his city’s efficient and somewhat unconventional response to COVID-19. Beloved by the people and supported by a solid mandate, “The Prince of Pasig” is as principled as they come.”
With this, Coney Reyes expressed how proud she is of her son.
In another post on her Instagram account, the veteran actress said. “Congratulations, son! I’m so proud of you!”
To recall, Coney and Vic supported the political career of their son, especially during the mayoralty race last 2019. The veteran showbiz personalities accompanied Vico Sotto from the filing of candidacy, campaign period, and until he was proclaimed as the new mayor of Pasig City.
In a recent report, the young mayor announced that the contractual employees of the Pasig City government will receive salary increase.
Mayor Vico is popular all over the Philippines due to the innovative and helpful measures he and his administration do to serve the Pasiguenos.
