It is not a secret that Pia and Catriona are being compared with each other.

Some claimed that Pia was unhappy following the victory of Catriona Gray.

It was in 2015 when Pia Wurtbach was crowned Miss Universe, more than four decades when the last Filipina Miss Universe Margie Moran won the title in 1973.

Three years after Pia was crowned, Catriona Gray was hailed Miss Universe.

As of today, they are still being compared with each other.

But Pia Wurtzbach made a clarification about it in a recent interview via Gulf News, a media organization in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Pia recently went to Dubai to receive her Woman of The Year award in the Xpedition Gala Awards 2020.

Coincidentally, Catriona also received the same award in 2019.

In the interview, she was asked about the victory of Miss Universe 2018 titleholder.

“I was actually there when she won. I was actually almost in the front row,” said Pia.

When asked if she’s threatened by Catriona Gray, she replied: “And people would say to me before, like, ‘Awww, she’s threatened because, you know, she doesn’t want another Filipino from the Philippines to win.”

“Everybody’s so happy. How can you be, like, the bitter one, right? Like, why would you wanna ruin the party?” she added.
