LPA Causes Chest-deep Floods Over Parts of Eastern Samar

The low-pressure area brings heavy rains that causes chest-deep flood over some parts of Can-Avid, Eastern Samar.

Over the past few weeks, different parts of the country have experienced moderate to severe flooding due to the series of typhoons. The severe flooding displaced numerous residents and causes damaged to possessions and properties.

The Eastern Samar local government unit reported that the creek in the area overflowed, which caused chest-deep flooding in Barangay Obong and its nearby areas. The flooding has been triggered by triggered by the incessant rains.

Chest-deep Floods

The low-pressure area has been last spotted at 105 km east northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar or 180 km east of Juban, Sorsogon on Wednesday (December 2, 2020). The LPA is moving closer to Northern Samar – Bicol Region area.

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the LPA has a slim chance to develop into a tropical depression.
