SSS will release December pension and 13th month pension starting December 1, 2020, according to an official.

Social Security System (SSS) on Wednesday said that pensioners would receive their December pension and 13th month pension starting December 1, 2020.

This, as SSS president and chief executive officer Aurora Ignacio said that they’re in the process of transferring the funds to the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).

During the Laging Handa briefing, Ignacio said that they would transfer the funds to the Development Bank of the Philippines by today or tomorrow so that they could give it to the banks and would become withdrawable on December 1, 2020.

Ignacio also said that December pension and 13th month pension would be on December 1, 2020, adding that the second batch of pensioners would receive their December pension on December 16, 2020.

Ililipat na po namin sa DBP by today or tomorrow ‘yung pondo para maibigay na nila sa mga bangko at maging withdrawable na siya on December 1. So 13th month and December pension will be on December 1 tapos po ‘yung second batch ng pensioners will receive ‘yung kanilang December pension ng December 16,” Ignacio said.

The SSS began releasing last month the regular pensions through the DBP’s disbursement facility through the Philippine Electronic Fund Transfer System and Operations Network (PESONet) and Development Bank of the Philippines-accredited remittance transfer companies (RTCs) or cash payout outlets (CPOs).

In a report on GMA News Online, PESONet was launched last November 2017 and was an electronic fund transfer payments system that enabled individuals to digitally transfer funds to any bank in the network, and would be received immediately upon clearing or within the same banking day.

Meanwhile, SSS announced in a previous advisory that it would open an assistance package for members and pensioners in areas placed under a state of calamity due to series of typhoons starting November 27, 2020.
