A newly-wed couple from Kidapawan City, North Cotabato earned the admiration and praises of netizens after spending not more than 5,000 pesos on their wedding.

Francis John Parcon, 29 and Cherry Lou Abellanosa, 27, tied the knot in a civil wedding held at the Hall of Justice in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato on Friday, September 25, 2020.

It was only on Tuesday, November 10, when they revealed to their friends that they got married.

According to Cherry Lou, what prompted them to pursue their wedding is because they are saving money for the future.

“After all, wedding isn’t about pleasing other people. It’s a celebration of love & couple’s union,” she said.

“And no matter how grand your wedding is, there will always be negative comments from dissatisfied guests,” she added.

She noted that their wedding was supposed to take place next year.

But after a short period of time planning, they pushed through their nuptials.

They were able to spend around 5,000 pesos for their nuptials minus the wedding rings.

The dress she wore which she bought from an online thrift shop cost only 500 pesos while for make-up they spend 1,500 and 300 for the payment in Hall of Justice

After the wedding, their family went to a resort in North Cotabato for an early dinner.

The Parcon’s nuptials which was posted on social networking site, Facebook has earned attention of netizens with over 95,000 reactions, 30,000 comments, and 56,000 shares as of posting.

At present, Francis is preparing his documents before he boards anew to an oil tanker vessel while Cherry, who previously worked as a financial advisor, focuses on her online clothing business.
