DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 348,698

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 348,698, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 348,698 with over 2,200 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, October 15, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #215 dated October 15, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,261 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 1,921 out of 2,261 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 348,698.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Thursday reported that 14 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 48,040 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #215 dated October 15, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 15 only: Metro Manila with 566 new cases, Cavite with 174 new cases, Pangasinan with 145 new cases, Northern Samar with 104 new cases, and Quezon with 98 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 385 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 294,161. Also, the Department of Health recorded 50 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 6,497.
