DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 329,637

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 329,637, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 329,637 with over 2,800 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, October 7, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #207 dated October 7, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,825 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,233 out of 2,825 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 329,637.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Wednesday reported that 12 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 49,989 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #207 dated October 7, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 7 only: Metro Manila with 1,031 new cases, Cavite with 243 new cases, Batangas with 238 new cases, Bulacan with 173 new cases, and Rizal with 159 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 437 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 273,723. Also, the Department of Health recorded 60 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 5,925.
