Update on health condition of Sec. Eduardo Año
DILG Undersecretary and spokesman Jonathan Malaya gave an update about the health condition of Interior Secretary Eduardo Año after contracting COVID-19 twice.
According to the DILG executive, Eduardo Año tested negative in his latest swab test.
“SILG (Secretary of the Interior and Local Government) is okay. Lumabas na yung latest swab test nung hapon ng Sept. 2 and negative na ang result,” he said.
However, the Interior secretary is not yet fully recovered despite he was able to complete his quarantine period.
“Hindi pa fully recovered at may konting ubo pa din siya. Pero he’s strong na,” he said.
It was on March 3 when Eduardo Año first tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus disease but recovered with a negative result released on April 13.
However, last August 15, he tested positive for the virus again.
Based on the report of Inquirer.net citing a statement from the Department of Health, those who recovered from COVID-19 are not immune to get reinfected.

As per record, 1,987 were the newly-reported cases, 880 new recoveries, and 65 new deaths as of September 3, 2020.
