Statement of Lipa Rep. Vilma Santos for Government, Medical Community Members
VILMA SANTOS – The 6th District Representative of Lipa City issued a statement for the government and the members of the medical community.
The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting more than 200 countries and territories including the Philippines. In PH, the total confirmed cases has now surpassed 106,000.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), out of the 106,330 cases of COVID-19 recorded in the country, 2,104 of the coronavirus patients died. The total recoveries is at 65,821 now.
In the past few days, the DOH’s recording at least 3,000 case of COVID-19 daily. It is amid the call of the medical community for an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in areas with increasing cases of coronavirus.

The medical community sought for a breather to be more prepared for the pandemic and identify the things needed to be strengthened. In line with it, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte placed several areas including Metro Manila under a Modified ECQ.
Several personalities from the different fields expressed their support to the healthcare workers. Recently, Lipa City Representative Vilma Santos released a statement for the government and the medical community.
In her statement, the 6th District Representative said that the calls of the medical community over the COVID-19 response must be heard. She pleaded to the government to listen to the pleas of the health workers.
