Steve Dailisan Loses Piloting Job Due To COVID-19 Pandemic
STEVE DAILISAN – The former GMA News reporter made revelations on losing his job as a pilot due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
One of the prominent reporters of GMA News is Steve Dailisan. Undeniably, a lot of people admire him not just because of his reporting skills but as well as his courage to pursue his dream.
Steve wanted to be a pilot and he really achieved it. He was a reporter for 12 years and had to leave the field to push through with his dream.

Many people were very happy for Steve who really achieved his dream including his colleagues in media. He landed on a new job and lived on a different field for quite a while.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic which brought a lot of things including work retrenchment in several companies and businesses, Steve Dailisan is one of those who lost his job.
Based on a report on GMA News, he was 10 months on his dream job as a pilot when he knew he had to let go of his work because of the situation. According to him, he knew it because of the “last in, first out” policy.
Steve said that it was in the last week of May when he got an idea that he might lose his job. The bad news came through a video conference.
“After which, parang nag-vlog ako and then I cried. After crying, I said to myself, ‘Sige, okay na ulit tayo,'” the former Kapuso reporter admitted.
Based on the report, after losing his work and amid convincing himself to get up again, Steve Dailisan admitted that there were several times when he felt sad and cried everytime he would pass by an airport area.
Steve further shared that there were times when getting up from bed was really very hard for him. It was his first time to be laid off since he spent straight 12 years with GMA-7.
Meanwhile, he pushed even more. He applied for a job and he continued to follow up on his applications. Based on the report, he got hired by Air Asia as Public Affairs Manager and he is happy.
Steve said that it is really important to feel the pain and cry to move on. A lot of people are dealing with job loss now amid the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the reporter-turned-pilot, having someone to talk to also helps a lot.
“We only have each other. Parang ang daming nawala sa atin and the sad part is we can’t do anything about it other than feel it and accept and look forward to the day this ends,” he said.
