Czarina Marie Balba or popularly known as DJ Chacha issued a statement in relation to the House of Representative’s approval of the 25-year franchise bid of DITO Telecommunity Corp.
Earlier, Congress has approved House Bill No. 7332 granting the third telco player in the country a franchise to “construct, establish, install, maintain, and operate wire and/or wireless telecommunications system in the Philippines”
“The franchise shall be extended and in effect for a period of 25 years from its expiration on April 24, 2023, unless sooner revoked or cancelled. This franchise shall be deemed ipso facto revoked in the event the grantees fail to operate continuously for two years,” the bill said which received 240 affirmative votes according to Inquirer.net.

DITO Telecommunity or formerly known as Mindanao Islamic Telephone Company, Inc. or Mislatel is owned by a Davao-based businessman Dennis A. Uy’s Udenna Corp. and China Telecom.
It was selected in 2018 as the third major telco player breaking the duopoly of Smart and Globe.
Meanwhile, DJ Chacha recently went to social media wherein she released a statement in relation to the approval of DITO’s franchise bid.
“Iba! 25 years. Sana all close. Sana all friendship. (emojis) Ang bilis. Walang kahirap hirap sa pagpapa-apruba ng prangkisa. Ayos!,” she said.
