ABS-CBN Writer Reacts To Statement of Actor Aljur Abrenica
ABS-CBN writer James Banaag reacted to Kapamilya actor Aljur Abrenica’s statement on the franchise issue of the network.
The ABS-CBN network failed to get a fresh 25-year franchise. It was more than two (2) months ago since the network’s broadcast operation went off air following an order of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
The NTC released a Cease and Desist Order. It was over the expired franchise of the network. Following it, thirteen hearings were held to tackle the issues and allegations thrown to the network.
Last July 10, the House Franchise Committee voted on the ABS-CBN’s bid for a fresh 25-year franchise. With a 70-11 voting, the network was denied of a new franchise to operate.
Several celebrities were vocal about their support to ABS-CBN even before the voting of the House. Many Kapamilya and Kapuso stars were also quick to react following the denial of the franchise bid.

There are also celebrities who maintained their silence and only spoke recently. One of them is Kapamilya actor Aljur Abrenica.
Aljur told Pep that he is pro-franchise but the fight of the network is beyond him. According to him, what he’s trying to say is that “their fight is their fight”.
The statement of Aljur Abrenica caught the attention of a Kapamilya writer. Visibly, James Banaag is disappointed over what the actor said about his mother network.
In a post on Twitter, the Kapamilya writer shared Pep’s article citing the statement of Aljur Abrenica and admitted in his caption that it saddens him that ABS-CBN got artists who, allegedly, do not fully understand the situation.
