Arnel De Jesus, the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) was appointed as the officer-in-charge (OIC) of the state-run insurance company during the medical leave of Ricardo Morales.
Ricardo Morales is the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of PhilHealth.
In a text message, PhilHealth spokesperson Shirley Domingo confirmed with Inquirer.net the appointment of Arnel De Jesus.
The president and CEO of PhilHealth filed a medical leave dated August 17 to 28 as per the advice of his doctor.
Prior to supposed attendance in a senate hearing, Morales publicly revealed that he’s undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes or lymphoma.
Arnel De Jesus was supposed to take over as representative of PhilHealth in the said hearing but he was absent at the time because of a medical emergency.
He was not able to attend the hearing “because of a scheduled medical follow-up check-up as a result of the emergency medical procedures” he underwent.
