Lauren Young agreed with ABS-CBN supporters calling for Congress to approve the renewal of ABS-CBN’s 25-year franchise.

The 26-year-old actress is a Kapuso star who is a former homegrown talent of the Kapamilya network.

On Sunday afternoon, June 5, she tweeted the hashtags “#LabanKapamilya” at “#IbalikAngABSCBN.”

This includes a viral artcard saying that although she is not one of the 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN, she is among the Filipinos who want the network to continue to serve.

The art card says:”I am one with them in calling our Congress to be true representatives of this country and to do what is right, and that is to grant the ABS-CBN franchise.”

This Monday, June 6, is the last day of the Congressional hearing on the ABS-CBN franchise.

A netizen commented that she was impressed with Lauren Young’s “vocal” support for ABS-CBN even though she was no longer there.

Lauren Young says she owes it to ABS-CBN for having a showbiz career.

“You should never forget where you come from. I owe my career to ABSCBN for giving me a chance and training me,” she said

“Everything I learned there I was able to bring and apply to my work in GMA. I’ll always be grateful to them. #IbalikAngABSCBN #LabanKapamilya,” she added.

Lauren Young is part of Star Magic Batch 13 – the roster of talents from the talent management arm of ABS-CBN – launched in 2006.

She starred in the remake of the prime-time series Mula Sa Puso, with JM de Guzman and Enrique Gil, in 2011.

According to PEP.ph, she moved to GMA-7 in late 2012.
