DOH gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in PH as of today, July 23, 2020.

The Department of Health (DOH) gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today, July 23, 2020.

According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #131 dated July 23, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,200 new COVID-19 cases wherein 1,314 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 886 were identified as “late” cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 74,390.

According to the Department of Health, the newly-confirmed cases on Thursday were reported based on the total tests done by 76 out of 90 current operational laboratories.

Other Stories

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 760 new recoveries and 28 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 24,383 and total coronavirus deaths to 1,871.

Moreover, the Department of Health reported 48,136 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #131 dated July 23, 2020.

The Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of July 23 only: Metro Manila with 1,546 new cases, Cebu with 246 new cases, Laguna with 83 new cases, Rizal with 61 new cases, and Cavite with 48 new cases.
