Vivian Velez’s statement about social distancing on public transport

Veteran actress Vivian Velez couldn’t help but express her dismay over the social distancing protocol on the public transportation system.

In a statement retrieved by News5 Aksyon which was posted on its Twitter page, Vivian Velez cited violating social distancing protocol as one of the reasons for the upsurge of COVID-19 cases in the country.

“This is what we get when we only provide 50% seating capacity per vehicle without even considering the amount of people who are going back to work just to keep their jobs and survive. They line up without social distancing. What’s the point?” she said.

“Nakakainis isipin na meron tayong 3 months to strategize and plan for this day and this is the best that we can do for our kababayan!?” she added.

Vivian Velez is a veteran actress and a radio host.

In the year 1980s, she was dubbed as “Ms. Body Beautiful” of the Philippine movies.

In 1983, she won the Film Academy of the Philippines FAP Award for Best Actress in Pieta, and in 1985, she won as Best Actress for Metro Manila Film Festival in Paradise Inn.

Among the stars that she worked with on her over 60 movies and shows are the following; Michael de Mesa, Lito Lapid, former President Joseph Estrada, and late Rudy Fernandez.

She also starred in teleseryes of ABS-CBN including Imortal starring John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin and Maria Mercedes, starring Jessy Mendiola.
