TUP Manila Now On ‘Lockdown’ Due To This

TUP Manila had been put under a 14-day “lockdown”.

The Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) Manila on Thursday evening officially announced that the university had been put under a 14-day “lockdown”.

This, as The Philippine Artisan reported that an administrative official of the Technological University of the Philippines Manila had tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to the university’s communication letter that was sent by TUP Task Force COVID-19 Chairperson Dr. Vicky R. Galiza to Dr. Jesus Rodrigo F. Torres, which was obtained by The Philippine Artisan, thorough disinfection of the university campus in Manila would be performed by the janitorial services during the lockdown period.

Moreover, 15 employees of the Technological University of the Philippines Manila were advised to undergo strict home quarantine for 14 days after having in close contact with the said patient. In addition, the resumption of the university’s skeletal workforce arrangement would be scheduled on July 1, 2020.

As of 4:00 p.m. of June 25,  the Department of Health reported 415 “fresh” cases and 363 “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 33,069.

Moreover, the Department of Health also reported 255 additional recoveries and eight new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 8,910 and total fatalities to 1,212.
