Cole Sprouse arrested in a “peaceful protest”
Riverdale star Cole Sprouse revealed via his Instagram post that he was arrested during a “peaceful protest” in Santa Monica in California.
Protests were organized across the country following the controversial death of George Floyd.
“I was detained when standing in solidarity, as were many of the final vanguard within Santa Monica. We were given the option to leave, and were informed that if we did not retreat, we would be arrested,” the Riverdale actor said.
“When many did turn to leave, we found another line of police officers blocking our route, at which point, they started zip tying us,” added Cole Sprouse.

Cole Sprouse was among the many celebrities who expressed their condemnation over the death of George Floyd.
Earlier, basketball stars Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Stephen Curry and to name a few aired their statement on the unfortunate death of Floyd.
George Floyd, an African-American man, died after a police officer kneeled on his neck for about 8 minutes.
Prior to his killing, he was arrested after being accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill at a market.
A video of the incident was retrieved and it appears that he did not resist the arrest, as claimed by the law enforcer. He can also be heard on the video exclaiming, “I can’t breathe.”
Cole Sprouse rose to fame when first portrayed the role of Cody Martin on the Disney Channel series “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”.
In 2017, he was globally recognized after starring as Jughead Jones on The CW television series “Riverdale.”
He is the twin brother of actor Dylan Sprouse who starred in defunct Hannah Montana.
