The DOH reported 858 new fresh cases of coronavirus disease for today, June 30, 2020

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported 858 new fresh cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines as of today, June 30, 2020.

This, as the Department of Health reported 1,080 new cases wherein 858 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 222 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 37,514 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 30, 2020.

For “fresh” cases, 158 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 430 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 270 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 45 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 38 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 139 were from different areas in the Philippines.

According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Tuesday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.

Other Stories

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 277 additional recoveries and 11 new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 10,233 and total fatalities to 1,266.
