Female Cadet Tops PMA ‘MASIDLAWIN’ Class’ of 2020

A female cadet of “MASIDLAWIN” Class of 2020 topped the list of PMA graduates.

Cadet First Class Gemalyn Sugui, a female cadet of “MASIDLAWIN” (Mandirigmang Isinilang na may Dangal at Lakas Upang Maging Tanglaw ng Inang Bayan) Class of 2020, topped the list of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) graduates.

This, as the Philippine Military Academy announced the list of Top 10 Graduates of “MASIDLAWIN” Class of 2020. The graduation rites of the Philippine Military Academy will be held this Friday afternoon.

Cadet First Class Sugui, a female cadet from Echague in Isabela, will also be awarded the following awards:

  • Presidential Saber
  • Achievement Award for Academic Excellence
  • JUSMAG Award
  • Philippine Army Saber
  • Spanish Armed Forces Award
  • Social Sciences Plaque
  • Management Plaque
  • Rule of Law Award

Here are the Top 10 PMA Graduates:

  1. Gemalyn Sugui of Echague, Isabela
  2. Jade Villanueva of Tacloban City
  3. Jefferson Salazar of Zamboanga City
  4. Rojes Gaile Jamandre of Lamut, Ifugao
  5. Jeb Bay-an of Kabayan, Benguet
  6. Catabay Ladyong of Tabuk, Kalinga-apayao
  7. Vanelyn Angel Tabao of Tuguegarao City
  8. June Giel Anne Factor of Ilocos Norte
  9. Rubenson Abgao of Baroy, Lanao Del Norte
  10. Dencel Aina Bayaca of Pampanga

The PMA announced that the academy decided not to open the graduation rites to the public due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, as such, graduates’ families and loved ones were also not allowed to attend the graduation rites.

The PMA said that the “MASIDLAWIN” Class has 172 male and 23 female graduating cadets, adding that 100 graduating cadets will be joining the Philippine Army, 45 graduating cadets will be joining the Philippine Air Force, and 51 graduating cadets will be joining the Philippine Navy.

As per the report, the “MASIDLAWIN” Class will be reporting straight to their respective major services in the Philippine Army, the Philippine Navy, and the Philippine Air Force amid the current health crisis in the Philippines.
