Apple officially released the Apple Maps Mobility Trends Reports site. This would provide insights into social distancing during the pandemic.
According to Apple, this tool may provide insights to health authorities and to local government authorities, adding that this may be used as a basis for new policies by presenting the change in the number of people walking, driving, or riding on a public vehicle in their places.
Apple clarified that Apple Maps didn’t associate users’ data with their Apple IDs, adding that the company didn’t keep a history of where users have been.
