OPAV ASEC To Consider COVID-19 Mass Testing In Visayas

The Assistant Secretary of OPAV would consider to conduct COVID-19 mass testing in the Visayas.

The Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) on Tuesday said that there’s a plan to run COVID-19 mass testing in the Visayas.

This, as Jonjie Gonzales, the Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, said that another 50,000 COVID-19 test kits to buy in addition to 40,000 donated COVID-19 test kits in order to conduct mass testing in the Visayas.

Gonzales added that the whole Visayas ⁠— Region 6, Region 7, and Region 8 ⁠⁠— was currently getting ready for the “worst-case scenario” as these regions, as of this writing, have recorded 49 confirmed coronavirus cases.

As of March 31, 2020, the Philippines recorded a total of 2,084 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 88 total fatalities and 49 total recoveries.
