Negros Occidental Councilor Who Attended Event in Manila Exhibits Flu-Like Symptoms
NEGROS OCCIDENTAL COUNCILOR – The mayor of Toboso confirmed that a councilor was brought to a hospital for exhibiting flu-like symptoms after attending a Manila trip.
The Filipino people are now monitoring the cases of coronavirus in the Philippines following an upward momentum of the total count in the last few days. Currently, there are 52 confirmed cases of the disease.
Out of the 52 confirmed cases of coronavirus, five (5) patients died during the treatment. One of them was a Chinese national who was the first death case of COVID-19 in the country and outside China.
Most patients of coronavirus are treated in Metro Manila hospitals now. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has placed Metro Manila under a “community quarantine” as a measure to curb the spread of the disease.
The local government units are also quick to relay information to the public if there are confirmed or suspected cases of the disease. Mayors take the lead to confirm the reports to the public.
Recently, the mayor of Toboso gave some information regarding a Negros Occidental councilor who exhibit symptoms similar to flu. Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, Mayor Richard Jaojoco expressed that the said public official has recently visited to Manila for the PCL National Congress.
According to the Town Mayor, the said councilor was already brought to a hospital. More updates may be posted soon.
