Doctor Clarifies Negros Oriental Coronavirus Patient Is Not Dead But In Critical Condition Now

NEGROS ORIENTAL CORONAVIRUS PATIENT – A doctor revealed that a coronavirus patient in Dumaguete is now in critical condition.

In the Philippines, the total confirmed coronavirus cases has reached 52 as of the eve of March 12. The Department of Health (DOH) reported three (3) new cases of the said disease.

Following the addition bringing the results to 52, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke to the public. In a televised national address, he announced the “community quarantine” within Metro Manila.

Most patients of coronavirus in the country are admitted in the hospitals in Metro Manila. Travels by land, sea, and air to and from the Metro will be suspended starting March 15, 2020.

There are also patients of coronavirus outside the Metro. Previously, it was confirmed that a Negros Oriental coronavirus patient was admitted in a hospital in Dumaguete City.

Previous reports confirmed that the patient was transferred to Silliman University Medical Center. Recently, an update about the patient crossed the surface.

Speaking to Cebu Daily News, the Negros Oriental coronavirus patient is in critical condition as revealed by Dr. Kenneth Coo, the President of the Philippine College of Physicians and Chairman for the Crisis Preparedness and Management Committtee. The clarification came amid reports that the patient died.

According to Dr. Coo, the patient had a kidney transplant and they are hoping that the kidney will also hold on. He admitted the possibility that it may deteriorate of the transplant case.

Based on the report, a total of 43 medical personnel are now under quarantine over the treatment of the said coronavirus patient. These medical staff work in the previous hospital where he was initially admitted and in Silliman.
