Update on the Coronavirus Deaths in the Philippines

CORONAVIRUS DEATHS IN THE PHILIPPINES – The total number of deaths in the Philippines due to COVID-19 increased.

There are three (3) latest additions to the number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines bringing the total to 52. The announcement was made by the Department of Health (DOH).

The Philippines is now faced with a huge challenge over the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus in the country. A patient confined in a hospital in Manila became the 2nd coronavirus death case in the country.

Previous reports showed that the said patient was the wife of the Senate resource speaker who also tested positive for the disease. He’s reportedly in critical condition due to COVID-19.

Coronavirus Deaths in the Philippines

Last night, March 12, 2020, the DOH released another announcement showing that the coronavirus deaths in the Philippines increased. There are three (3) new recorded deaths bringing the total to five (5).

The health department identified those patients who expired as patients with ID PH6, PH5, and PH37. According to DOH, two of them, PH5 and PH37, got underlying conditions.

Last night, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte placed Metro Manila into a “community quarantine”. Classes were suspended and travels by land, sea, and air to and from Metro Manila will soon be suspended too beginning Sunday, March 15, 2020.
