4 New Cases of Coronavirus Confirmed in the Philippines – Pres. Duterte

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced four (4) new cases of the 2019 novel coronavirus in the Philippines.

The Philippines is now in a battle against the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus. It is in the country where the first coronavirus death case outside China was recorded.

The initial confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country were three (3) Chinese nationals. Two (2) of them recovered from the disease while the other one, a 44-year-old Chinese man, died while being treated at San Lazaro Hospital.

Last week, the Department of Health (DOH) informed the public that there are two (2) new cases of coronavirus in the Philippines. All the patients are Filipinos and male.

One of the said patients, a 62-year-old man, was confirmed to be a case of local transmission. He has no travel history outside the country. Shortly after his detection, his wife also tested positive for the disease.

Following the three (3) confirmed cases, the DOH revealed four (4) more cases of the disease. The total number was at 10 in the morning of March 9.

Yesterday, the health department once again made an announcement to the public. They confirmed that 10 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed bringing the total to 20.

Before the day ended, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke on a press briefing. Based on a report on CNN, the President revealed that four (4) more people tested positive for coronavirus.

According to the President, the new cases were put to record in San Juan, West Crame, Sta. Maria, and Project 6 in Quezon City. The total cases in the Philippines now is at 24.
