Couple Coronavirus Patients in the Philippines Died of the Disease

CORONAVIRUS PATIENTS – A couple infected by coronavirus in the Philippines died.

Philippines is now in the midst of a fight against the COVID-19. Currently, there are a total of 52 confirmed coronavirus cases in the Philippines.

The said disease first sprung in China. It held the country under an outbreak with over 70,000 confirmed infections. Globally, at least 2,000 died of the disease.

In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) has continuously reminded the public to observe proper hygiene and avoid the crowd. A boost in the immune system by healthy means is also encouraged.

Last night, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced the implementation of a “community quarantine” in the whole of Metro Manila. Most coronavirus patients are confined within the Metro.

Starting March 15, 2020, all travels to and from Metro Manila, whether it is by land, air, or sea, are suspended. The government extended the class suspension amid the fight against COVID-19.

Shortly after Pres. Duterte made a national address over coronavirus, DOH released a statement confirming the deaths of three (3) coronavirus patients. Patients with ID PH5, PH6, and PH37 passed away.

Based on the statement released by the DOH, two (2) of the coronavirus patients who recently died in the Philippines are a couple. PH5 is the husband of PH6.

PH5 was suffering from diabetes and hypertension apart from his coronavirus infection. He passed away on March 12 after suffering from severe pneumonia. PH6 died on the eve of March 11 after having severe pneumonia as well.

DOH stated that PH37 who was admitted at the Philippine Heart Center expired in the afternoon of March 12. The patient was hypertensive and developed acute respiratory failure resulting to death.
