103-Year-Old Grandma Successfully Recovers From Coronavirus

A 103-year-old grandma identified as Zhang Guangfen has recovered from the coronavirus disease after less than a week treatment.

The Chinese centenarian is the oldest coronavirus patient to recover in China, two years older from a 101-year-old patient who is the previous record holder. Zhang obtain full recovery within less than a week.

The granny recovered because she did not have many health conditions aside from COVID-19. She tested positive from coronavirus last March 1, 2020, at Liyuan Affiliated Hospital of Tongji Medical College in Wuhan, Hubei Province of central China.

Zhang was in critical condition before she was admitted to the hospital and could barely talk to medical personnel. The medics assisted and help the old lady to recover through nutrition therapy sessions and round-the-clock medical care.

The old lady was cured within less than a week after she tested positive to coronavirus and was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon (March 11, 2020).

“The grandmother loved being complimented by the nurses, she would smile and nod every time after I told her she looked pretty,” matron, Liao Zhenhui said.
