Persons Quarantined in Bohol Include 2 Nurses Who Attended To Coronavirus Patient
NURSES – Two (2) of the nurses who attended to a coronavirus patient in Bohol are now under quarantine.
The Philippines is now one of the countries with a huge number of persons under investigation (PUIs) amid the outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus in China. The authorities are strictly monitoring them to curb the spread of the disease.
The country has three (3) confirmed cases of nCoV. The first confirmed coronavirus case in the Philippines is a 38-year-old Chinese woman from Wuhan City, China – the epicenter of the outbreak.
The second coronavirus case in PH is the partner of the said Chinese woman, a 44-year-old Chinese man. His death was confirmed last Sunday and his case is the first nCoV death case outside China.
The 3rd confirmed case of coronavirus in the Philippines is a 60-year-old Chinese national who has already left the country. The patient had conflicting test results and on the first laboratory test, he tested positive for nCoV.
The said Chinese national had visited Cebu and Bohol while she was in the Philippines. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, currently, five (5) people are under quarantine in Bohol.
According to the report, two (2) of the nurses who attended to the coronavirus patient in Bohol are among those who are under quarantine now. Sadly, just yesterday, the two (2) started coughing and experiencing cold which are part of the symptoms of nCoV.
Reportedly, the specimens of the nurses who attended to the coronavirus patient in Bohol have already been sent to RITM. The government is urging everyone who had a contact with the Chinese national to go for a check-up.
