Manila Health Department Says ‘No Confirmed’ Case Of Novel Coronavirus

The Manila Health Department released a statement following the unverified information regarding an alleged novel coronavirus case in Binondo.

In a statement on Monday, the Manila Health Department said that a Chinese man was diagnosed with community acquired pneumonia. This Chinese man was working at a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO).

According to Manila City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan, the POGO worker was hospitalized at Metropolitan Hospital last Saturday, January 25, because of his fever and cough, yet he’s now well and without fever.

Dr. Pangan added that the Chinese man has fever and cough, yet “negative on history of travel to Wuhan” as well as “no history of exposure to a host or positive case.”

Meanwhile, Mayor Isko Moreno encouraged the public to avoid sharing misinformation. He also said that the public should listen to the advise of the authorities and government agencies.

Mayor Isko Moreno also urged the public to get a check-up and seek medical treatment.
