Michael Jordan on Sunday (Monday in the Philippines) mourned the death of Kobe Bryant, saying that he was “like a little brother” to him.

This, after Kobe Bryant, together with his daugter Gianna and seven others, died in a helicopter crash.

According to Michael Jordan, he was “in shock” over the tragic news about Kobe’s and Gianna’s passing. He added that he can’t describe his pain through words.

In a statement, Jordan said that Kobe Bryant would be remembered as one of basketball’s greatest players. He also said that he was “like a little brother” to him as they used to have a conversation more often. He admitted that he will miss those conversations that they had.

In addition, he said that Kobe was a “fierce competitor” and also “an amazing dad who loved his family.” He also said that Kobe took great pride in Gianna’s love for the game of basketball.
