After serving as president, Duterte is now back to simple living
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former chief executive is back to living a simple life after his six-year term as President of the Republic of the Philippines.
In a photo shared by one of the members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), the ex-president was spotted in front of his house in Davao City. His house is now considered a tourist spot.
Wearing an old t-shirt, pajama, and slippers, the former president can be seen along with Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte while looking at his grandson on board a motorcycle.
Last July 2, the said PSG posted a video of citizen Duterte entering his house which is said to be a symbolic event.
Duterte has been keeping silent on the issues faced by the country such as the continuous increase of oil products and basic commodities. He has preferred to let the current administration do what they want.
His last public message was when he expressed his sympathy to the family of slain former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe.
Abe was assassinated while giving a speech at a campaign rally in Nara, Japan. The suspect used an improvised handgun in killing the ex-prime minister.
Meanwhile, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go revealed that Duterte agreed to work in his office in the Senate.
Apparently, it is not clear whether Duterte still has plans to enter public service or retire.
Duterte served as President from 2016 to June 2022. His post was taken over by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
