LENI ROBREDO — Here’s what the incumbent Vice President said when she was asked what will be her “selling point” if she will campaign for former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
On Wednesday, Robredo has found some good words to say about Marcos despite their bitter rivalry in politics.
Speaking at the DZRH’s “Bakit Ikaw? The Presidential Job Interview”, the Vice President was asked by one of the panelists what will be her “selling point” if she will campaign for the former senator.
The Vice President, who is running for president in the 2022 elections, groped for answers at first as she can’t think of what the former senator has done good in public office that will make her campaign for him.
Robredo then made a response that Marcos has a long stint in politics among the presidential candidates for the 2022 elections.
“Pinakamahirap yata ‘yan na sagot,” Robredo said, eliciting laughter from the panelists during the interview. “Matagal na siya (Bongbong) sa pulitika.”
The Vice President was also asked if there’s a chance she’ll reconcile or unify with her political rival.

Robredo said that while she’s a “very forgiving” person, it’s clear to her that the issue with the Marcoses was about the whole country. For Robredo, there can only be talks of unification if justice had been served.
She added that the “battle lines” were clear because she and Marcos were “complete opposites” in terms of the kind of politics they represented. The Vice President also stressed that the former senator espoused the kind of politics that hindered the country from improving.
